The popular Ulladulla Seniors tennis tournament was held last weekend with rainy weather on Saturday afternoon interrupting the days play.
Allan Cocks played some very solid tennis winning the 140 Combined Mens Doubles with Stewart Dawson from Dapto. Allan and Stewart also performed well in the 65/70 Doubles being placed second behind Cliff Maisey (Jamberoo) and Charlie Sugar. On the Saturday afternoon the weather turned a little nasty with steady showers finally bringing matches to a halt but not before Allan and partner Narelle Winter had won two out of three sets in the 120/140 Mixed doubles.
Kiama pair Rod Callaghan and John Zimmer (from Jamberoo) played some tough pairs in the 65 Mens Doubles. John and Rod combined well but were a little out of luck losing a couple of big break points. The pair in the round robin were placed equal 3rd with two other pairs which indicated just how even all 5 pairs were.
David Graham and Mary Baker from North Ryde (a scratch pair) lost their first mixed 5/3 and were faced with an almost impossible task to win their last match 7/1or better. Both players combined well to win 8/0 and take the 95 Mixed doubles.
Sunday afternoon matches were abandoned.
