Manly Charity Event

On Sunday 10th April David Graham, Kiama Tennis Club Board member, attended a Corrilee Foundation tennis charity event at Manly Tennis Club with funds going to the North Shore Cancer Research Centre. David was invited by an old friend Jan Lehane (O’Neill) former Australian Ladies singles finalist who is currently in ill health. John Alexander and Tony Roche participated in on court tennis matches on the day along with Leslie Bowrey (two times French Open Champion) as well as Judy Teggart (Dalton) 8 times grand Slam Doubles Champion. Alan Jones 2 GB Radio announcer and tennis supporter conducted a sponsor auction with the final amount of funds raised to be announced later this week. David Graham came third in the mens event with 30 games scored and received some Babolat clothing items for his efforts. “I really enjoyed my match against Tony Roche, one of the nicest guys you would ever meet”

David combined with Anton Enus, the SBS Newsreader to win 9/2 in Round three over a highly ranked younger pair to bolster his total games scored.

Ken Rosewall and Mark Edmondson also attended the event to support Jan Lehane who is now 75 years of age.
