Juniors – Competition News
Bjorn Myers and Paul Mulligan competed in the Wollongong AMT (Australian Money Tournament) last weekend (21st June) at Wollongong with Bjorn playing solid tennis but lost his round 2 match against Mathew Leffler. Paul Mulligan narrowly lost a round 2 qualifying match to Howard Ho the No 3 seed from Auckland New Zealand. After winning the first set in a tie -break 7/6 Paul played well but couldn’t hold his edge losing 6/7 6/2 7/5
Bjorn and Paul combined in the AMT doubles and went down in a tough match 7/5 6/2 to Aaron McCrae and Jens Sweaney.
The previous weekend at Bateman’s Bay Bjorn reached the round of 16 after defeating Michael Vickery a determined and very experienced player from Sydney 6/3 5/7 6/4. Bjorn and Paul combined well to defeat a tough Sydney pair of Peter Eddy and Wayne Swaysland 6/4 1/6 10/8. Unfortunately rain caused the event to be abandoned on the last of play.
